My favourite city

Although I haven't travelled to many countries and towns, I have visited some of them, like Dublin, Carlow and Killarney in Ireland, and my favourite one of all these, London. I like the most London because it has a lot of monuments, shops and places to visit. However, my favourite city in the world is Paris.
I haven't visited Paris yet, but I would like to do it very soon because I think it is the most beautiful city in the world. I have seen a lot of photos of it, and some friends of mine have travelled there many times because they are in loved with this place, and actually I am too!
I like it because there are a lot of places to visit, including museums, restaurants, parks and a lot of monuments. Furthermore, the Eiffel Tower is one of the biggest and wonderful monuments in the world, and it is situated in a wonderful place to take some photos with different views.
Moreover, in Paris we can find one of the most lovely places for children (and not children)... Disneyland! It is such a beautiful place that people who have gone there always want to repeat. Every film that we have seen when we were young is represented there, and there are a lot of famous characters of those films. In addition, there are a lot of shops to buy items to carry home as a memory.
These are some of the reasons why I love Paris. I am in loved with it and I can't stand going there very soon!

My future job

When we are very young, everybody ask us what do we want to be in the future. And you say the job that somebody has told you to say, because you don't know yet what you are going to be good at and what you are really going to like. That's why when you grow up, you change your mind and you usually say that you want to become something that you have never though about.
When I was younger, I wanted to be a doctor. However, when I started to learn English, I found that I was good at it and that I really liked it. That is why now I am studying to become an English teacher.
Teaching is something that I also like a lot, because I have always liked children and I think that I could be happy and glad if I teach them in the future.

My family

My family consists of my two parents and my brother. To start with someone, first of all I am going to talk about my mother.
She is called Beatriz, and she is a really nice person. She is tall, slim, pretty and has a beautiful big green eyes. She has dark medium-length hair and some freckles in her face. She is very generous, smart and loves looking always good. She is a friendly person, but also she is a bit stubborn. She behaves as a perfect mother with my brother and me, and she is a very very very good cooker! She always surprises us with something new.
My father is called Eugenio. He is medium-average and slim. He has brown eyes, short dark hair and a wonderful smile. He is a bit shy, but when he gets confident and confortable with the people, he is a very friendly person, and he is always telling jokes. He is also very generous and always tries to make you happy. It is always very good to spend some time with him.
On the other hand, my younger brother is called Alejandro. He is a very cheerful teenager. In spite of the fact that he is only fifteen, he is a mature person who always tries to help you with any problem you have. You can trust on him. He is very sensitive, and this sometimes isn't good at all, because people sometimes behaves badly and take advantage of this. I love spending time with him, because we get on very well and we love talking to each other.
Well, this is my family. I love all of them and I miss them a lot while I am studying in Murcia. I think each of them is fantastic and I wouldn't change a thing of them!

My favourite film

I have always liked going to the cinema. However, it is more and more expensive every year, so now I have got used to watch a film that I like at home.
I like many kinds of films, like horror films, musical films, mistery films... But, without doubt, the genre that I most like is the romantic one.
I love watching romantic films, because I enjoy it a lot when a couple is really happy and they have fantastic adventures. That is why my favourite film is Titanic.
Titanic is such an amazing and beautiful film that I have watched it many times. It tell us about a rich girl who is travelling to America with her future husband and some members of her family. Her name is Rose. On the other hand, Jack is a poor boy who wins this journey playing with some cards.
When they meet each other, they fall in love and they have a difficult (but lovely) story of love.
One night, the boat hits an iceberg, and it starts to sink little by little. A few hours after this crash, the chaos goberns the boat, and some people finally manage to catch a small boat to scape and survive. Unfortunately, a lot of people can't scape and they have to stay at the boat. When it finally sinks, the sea appears full of dead bodies. Jack and Rose manage to catch a door to try to survive, but Rose is the only one who stays alive until a rescue boat came to pick her up. She gets very upset when she realises that Jack hasn't survive, but she is very proud of herself because she has passed a really hard and difficult situation.
I love this film because of its lovely message, and also because it shows a situation that has really happened, so we can make an idea of how hard the situation in that moment was. Furthermore, the song "My heart will go on" has become very famous because of that film, and I love it too!

What can we do in our free time?

All of us have everyday some moments when we do not know what to do and we just start to think: what could I do for amuse myself?
There are a loiot of activities to do in this cases. For example, you can meet your friends and go shopping, or even go to have lunch with them. However, they won't be always ready for you when you want to meet them, maybe because they have to study or because they have planned another activity. In those cases, the best thing you can do is practising an sport. You can get into a team where you meet new people and, furthermore, you keep in fit.
Playing a sport is a funny and good choice, but if you don't have money to spend in a team, you can go jogging; it is very healthy, and you get relaxed!
Furthermore, you can stay at home and watch TV. Sometimes there are very good and interesting films on TV, so if you find something that you like, go for it!
In my case, when I have some free time I usually go shopping with my mother or with my friends. Moreover, sometimes I watch a film with my little brother, because we love sitting together in the sofa and watching a film that we have never watched.
I also have another option, which is chatting with my cousin. I am lucky because he lives just upstairs, and he is as older as me. In addition, both of us have the same friends, so we can talk to each other about them and even meet them together. We get on really well, and when one of us has some spare time, we meet each other and we could spend hours and hours chatting. It is fantastic!

Christmas time!

Christmas is very near, and just in a few days I am going back home to celebrate it with my family. In spite of the fact that I have to study a lot, I am going to try to spend as much time as possible with my family and friends.
I always spend my holidays of Christmas in Albacete with my family, but maybe this year, on New Year's Eve I am going to my village, Pozohondo, where we are going to have dinner with my relatives in an enormous restaurant. After that, I am going to a party with my friends to make a good start of the year. We have booked a party where a lot of people of our age is going, and we are looking forward to go, because I think that the music will be great and my friends and me are going to spend a fantastic night.
The rest of the days I am going to study a lot because of the exams that I am taking on January. I hope everything goes in the right way!

Obesity

Obesity is a real problem which is affecting nowadays a lot of people in many countries, especially in the American ones. 

The reason why it exists and why it is becoming more and more serious every day is because people now have got used to stay at home, lying on the sofa, watching TV or playing video games. Furthermore, while they are practising these activities, they usually have a snack or something to eat because it is true that spending a whole afternoon playing video games is quite long so you need to eat something.

Moreover, people have given up doing sports. Some time ago, we used to go outside for a walk, we met our friends to go shopping and we went on foot, etc. However, nowadays everything is very different mainly because of technology; people use cars to go everywhere, although this place is really near their home. Moreover, nowadays there are online shops, and people needn't go outside to buy something. In fact, they only have to click and the product they want arrives to their home just in a few days.

Child obesity is the most worrying problem of all this issues. That is a really serious problem because if a child suffers from obesity since he is very young, he or she can have a lot of illnesses and serious problems in a future. Some time ago, children used to go out with their friends to a park and play football or any other sport, but nowadays we have the problem that videogames exist, and they are the main cause why children are becoming more and more fat.

Overall, we have to be careful with the activities we practise every day, and try to go for a walk everyday just for 20 minutes, or going shopping instead of shopping online. With this few things, we can do a lot.

Education

Compared to some years ago, education has changed a lot. However, is it worse or better now?

On the one hand, there are some advantages of education nowadays. Teachers don't have to write papers and papers by hand to give to their students in order to help them to study. In fact, they use their computers and digital items to do it. Furthermore, they help the enviroment and they don't waste as many paper as a document written by hand. Moreover, they prepare the things quickly and they can use technology to show the students some videos os photos.

On the other hand, when a teacher use this technology bad, I mean, reading and reading and reading each word of the document and don't explaining anything with the excuse that we can read the lesson at the same time as them. In addition, Students can get distracted and do not pay the same attention as if the teacher would look them at the eyes.

That's why I think that the nowadays education is a bit worse that it was some years ago, although there are some advantages on the one of nowadays.

Black Friday

Last weekend I went back from Murcia to my home town, Albacete. I arrived there at 7 o'clock more or less in the afternoon, and my parents picked me up at the bus station. When I arrived home, my grandparents were waiting for me at home, and I was very happy to see them again. Some time later, I had dinner, and about 10:30 hours, I went shopping with my mother. Yes, shopping at night! I was surprised when she told me that that day was "Black Friday". I get dressed and we went out to the street.
We arrived  at the town centre, and we got shocked because it was very crowded! Everybody was going around in the streets or trying to shop something cheap.
My mother and I went to the main shops, but they were so crowded that I couldn't buy anything. Furthermore, I didn't see anything that I liked, so we went to eat a waffle together, which was delicious.
When we finished, we started our way home. At the middle of the street, there was a man who was doing magic tricks with cards, so we stopped to see him for some minutes. He was really good!
Finally,we arrived home around 12:30 hours. Although we hadn't bought anything, we spent a really good time toguether.

A perfect concert

On 5th September, I went to a concert in Albacete. It consisted of two of the best singers nowadays: Alejandro Sanz and Pablo Alborán.
Although the concert started at half past eight, we waited at the door since 5 o'clock. The day was very weard, because it seemed that it was going to rain in a minute while we were waiting outside, but it didn't. Finally, the doors were opened, and my friend Laura and me ran to get a good seat.
First of all there was a supporting artist called Rozalén. She sang a few song to entertain us while we were taking our seats. I haven't listened her before, but I liked a lot the way she sang.
A few minutes later, Pablo Alborán appeared on scene. I was really excited, because he was the one who I was looking forward to see. He sang really really good, and I enjoyed the concert a lot.
Ah! I have forgotten one thing... Just when Pablo went to scene it started to rain heavily. However, I was so in-loved with the concert that I didn't mind. He played the piano, the guitar, the dumps... In conclusion, he was fantastic.
When Pablo finished, it was the turn of Alejandro Sanz. The stage was fantastic decorated, and he did it very well too. Despite his good performance, I liked most the one of Pablo, because from my point of view he sang much better.
When the concert ended. I was soaking wet, but I was so happy and excited that I didn't mind. I had a really good time there, and I would like to repeat again soon, rain included!

Halloween

Last week, we celebrated Halloween in Colegio Mayor Azarbe, a student's residence where I am staying during my studies. All of us dressed up with costumes (I was a dead girl) and went to the playground, where we had a barbecue all together, including teachers. Furthermore,  a lot important people of the university also came to have dinner and to take photos with us.
Some people of the residence did a ''horror corridor'', where all the lights were turned off and we have to pass in pairs. While we were passing throught it, people screamed and scared us. It was very funny!
After having dinner, we turned up the music and we danced. Moreover, we took a lot of photos that we posted later in social networks.
Everybody was fantastic dressed! We had a lot of fun all toguether and I hope that next year it will be as fantastic as it has been!

INTRODUCTION

Nowadays, technology is used by almost everybody. We have got used to it, and now we think that we couldn't live without it. However, it isn't true, because people have always live without technology, and our generation is being more and more dependent on it everyday. That's why technology is an important factor which helps us in our lifes, althought we have to be careful with it.


CONCLUSION

Technology is an important and dangerous tool, but it can be useful in our lifes if we make a good use of it. It solves a lot of doubts and helps with our daily routines. That's why I wouldn't stop using it.

The best fair in Spain

From my point of view, the best fair in Spain is the one of... Albacete!
I live there, and, since I was a child, I have been going there every year. It is a wonderful fair which attracts a lot of people from many other cities of the country. It lasts ten days, from the 7th to the 17th of September.
The fair starts with a parade which goes around the main parts of the city and ends in the fair, exactly in a place which is called "La Puerta de Hierros". There, when the parade has finished, there is a show of fireworks and music, and finally this famous door is opened by the mayor.
During the rest of the days, people do many different activities. For example, they can get into the roaller coaster, they can eat "miguelitos" with chocolate, or they can go and dance with their friends.
There are also a lot of concerts of famous people, like Melendi, Malú, Dani Martin... and every morning in the bull ring there is a heifer, so many people go and play with it.
A lot of people come every year to this fair, especially at the weekends, when the ones who live in a village near Albacete come to the fair to have a really good time.
It is a fantastic time of the year, which every "albaceteño" is looking forward to arrive every year!

A fantastic journey

Last summer I went on an english camp in Ireland, more exactly in the city of Killarney. I stayed for a fortnight in a house with an Irish family which was fantastic. The woman's name was Una, and she was really friendly. There was also a dog which was lovely.
I was alone in that house, but my neighbour was another girl from my spanish group, so we went to school together everyday. There, we studied English and we spoke a lot with foreign people, so we improved a lot our skills in this language.
In the afternoon, we used to make very different activities, like going sightseeing, riding a horse, going to the national park (which was awesome) and a lot of more things.
Everyone of our group got on very well, so we had a fantastic time all together. When we had to return to spain, we all were really sad of having to get away from each other. That's why we are still having meetings in different cities of our community.
That has been the best journey I have done for the moment. I spent a really good time there and I would like to return there one day.

Opinion parragraph: Going to the beach or to the mountains?

Summer is a fantastic time for going on holiday, but what is the best place to go?
On the one hand, the beach is a fantastic place to go in summer, because there you can sunbathe and swim in the sea. Furthermore, you can disconnect your mind about your worries and have a good time with friends and family. However, there are some disadvantages, like being cover of sand or getting burn with the sun.
On the other hand, mountains are another good place to go, because there you won't be suffering of the terrible hot. Moreover, you practice sports and you can get a fantastic view when you reach the top of the mountain.
If I had to choose one,  I would choose the beach, because I love getting sunbathe and swiming in the sea. In addition, is a tradition in my family going there every year, so I am always looking forward to it, because we always spend a fantastic time all together.

Problems and solutions

In this video we have seen that there is a man who has a big problem, which is that he wants to jump and end with his life. This is because he is not happy with his life, because he is passing thought a horrible moment: first of all, he has been fired by his boss, so now the man hasn't got any money. Furthermore, he has splitted up with his girlfriend, so now he is alone. These are the reasons why he wants to jump.
The solution to this problem could be the convenciment of his girlfriend; she could arrive while he is ready to jump and tell him that she loves him and that she still wants to be living with him. In that way, the man would feel sorry and he won't jump.

Comparative and contrastive paragraph

There are many different ways of enjoying music. People playing in a rock band, for example, have to be very energetic and they should have the strengh to move a lot in the stage. In contrast, a person who plays a musical instrument, like a piano or a violin, has to behave in a calmed way while he is performing. There are more differencies. When you play in a rock band, you can improvise and you needn't have an schedule, while playing a musical instrument needs concentration a following some steps. Furthermore, if you are in a band you can connect with the public, I mean, talking with them and saying something between songs. On the other hand, if you are playing the violin, for example, you have to be quiet; you connect also with the public, but in a very different way.
There are also some similarities between both kinds of playing music. If you play a musical instrument you make people enjoy the performance, the same as in a rock band. Each way attracts a lot of people who want to see the artists, so both of them are fantastic to enjoy, alone or with a group of friends.

Is it better to study in your home town or in another one?

Studing in your home town has advantages and disadvantages compared to studing in another city.
On the one hand, if you study in your home town you are next to your family and friends, and you can meet them everyday. Furthermore, you know perfectly well the town, and nothing is new for you, because you know where everything is. However, you can get bored of seeing always the same buildings and shops, and of course of don't discovering anything new.
On the other hand, studying in a different town means changing everything. In fact, you meet new people, you make new friends, and you discover places that you may love. The problem is that you are too far away of the people you love, so it is a bit hard to separate from them and start a new life without seeing them everyday.
From my point of view, studying in a different town is better, because you discover new things and, of course, it helps you to mature.

Describing a place

We can see an image of Giant's Causeway. It consits of a group of rocks which have an strange form. This place seems to be a bit cold and brave, mainly because of the strenght of the water.
It gives you the feeling of loneliness and sadness. We can only see the colors of the water and the stones, so that's why it isn't a lively place.
I think it is a good place to go when you want to be alone, mainly because it is such a peaceful place, and when you want also to think about your worries.

Are new technologies positive?

Technologies nowadays are really important for our daily activities. We use them all the time, especially the Internet. But are they really positive?

On the one hand, they are very useful in order to solve doubts and questions that we have. For example, on the Internet we can search some recipes in order to cook something special, or we can hava a look to some photographies of a country that we would like to visit in a future.
Moreover, they help us to disconnect of our worries, and they make us have a good time.

On the other hand, they are a bit dangerous. That's because when we start to use our mobile phone, for example, we first think that we are going to use it for five minutes, but it is never true. We spend a lot of time using technologies in general, maybe more than we should.

From my point of view, I think that technologies are very useful and positive, but we have to take care and use them carefully.

Things about me

My name is Lorena Molina. I am a friendly and generous teenager. I am tall, and I have dark hair and brown eyes.

I have a lot of hobbies; some of them are: listening to music, meeting my friends, watch TV and films (especially horror and romantic films) and English. I've always liked English.

When I was a child I used to watch films like "Nemo" or "Toy Story" twice, one of these in Spanish and the other one in English. That's because my dad has always liked languages, especially English.
Nowadays, I always listen to english music, because I prefer this kind rather than the spanish one. I also keep on watching films in this language. Furthermore, sometimes I help my brother with his homework and I try to teach him anything he doesn't know.

In the future I would like to become an English teacher, because I love teaching children and,  of course, I love English!
